Introduction to Digital Media

Digital media is any audio, video, text or graphic content in a digital form. We use it to communicate to each other or to larger audiences.




Some examples are digital audio (mp3s and ebooks), computer programs and software (digital images, digital video, web pages and websites) and print media (printed books, newspapers and magazines).



Mp3s are a product of digital audio. It is a common audio format for audio streaming or storage. It uses a form of lossy data compression.

E-books are a form of digital media. It consists of text and images, readable on computers or other electronic devices. 

Cell phones are a form of digital media. They are used to connect people and make social contact easier.
